MEANING: The Divine Mare-Horse Goddess, also Goddess of child bearing, and the home. Roman legionaries, deeply impressed with the Celtic horsemanship, took up the worship of Epona eventually importing Her 'cult' to Rome. The Mare Goddess accompanies the souls of honorable people into the land of the dead.
Epona is one of the most well-known of all the Goddesses within the Celtic Pantheon, and was granted such titles as "The Great Mare," the "Divine Mare," and the "Mare Goddess.” Her name derives from the Celtic words “epos” meaning “horse” and the suffix “-ona” meaning “on.
This is Coop's modification to Katrina's design of her Celtic style Horse Spirit. He added an Eternity Braid down the center nose ridge enhancing the Celtic meaning.
