Miniature Compass Rose-Celtic Knot of Journey and Return-Sailors Knot Wood Carving

MEANING: The Compass Rose of a map shows the four directions, highlighted so that sailors could read it under the stars. Circles often represent completion. Eternity knots forming a Compass Rose with the circle woven thru, evoke the cycle of Exploration and Returning Home. This is Coop’s miniature version of his Compass Rose Knot. He attaches an eye hook on one point so the knot can hang from a string. If you would prefer one without the eye hook, please leave a note when ordering. There are pictures with both sizes shown so you can see the difference...this listing is for the little one! THE CARVING: My Carvings are single pieces of western red cedar, designed and carved to be wall hangings. Each piece is finished with a blend of clear oils that brings out the natural color of the wood. For more information on the process of creation, please see my profile. SIZE: One picture has the piece on a quilting board, lined up on the 1 inch marks. So subtract 1 inch from the height and width for the stock size. Measurements may vary slightly from piece to piece.
