MEANING: This knot invokes the nobility and free spirit of the Wolf. For those looking for the ancient Celtic totem of Wolf (Madadh-alluidh), Wolf is an intelligent creature, capable of out thinking hunters. It can teach you how to read the signs of Nature in everything, how to pass by danger invisibly, how to outwit those who wish you harm, and how to fight when needed. Sometimes the world, seen on a journey, will lead you to a spiritual teacher and guide. The Native American Animal Spirit Wolf is Teacher. Wolf is the pathfinder, the forerunner of new ideas who returns to the clan to teach and share medicine. Wolf takes one mate for life and is loyal like Dog. If you keep company with Wolves, you would find an enormous sense of family within the pack, as well as a strong individualistic urge. These qualities make Wolf very much like the human race. As humans we also have an ability to be a part of society and yet still embody our individual dreams and Ideas. The senses of Wolf are very keen, and the Moon is its power ally. The Moon is the symbol for psychic energy or the unconscious that holds the secrets of knowledge and wisdom. Baying at Moon indicates Wolf’s desire to connect with new ideas which are just below the surface of consciousness. THE CARVING: My Carvings are single pieces of western red cedar, designed and carved to be wall hangings. Each piece is finished with a blend of clear oils that brings out the natural color of the wood. For more information on the process of creation, please see my profile. SIZE: The last picture has the piece on a quilting board, lined up on the 1 inch marks. So subtract 1 inch from the height and width for the stock size. Measurements may vary slightly from piece to piece. Please contact if we don't have your country listed for shipping outside of the U.S. International orders will be sent Parcel Post.
