Instant Karma! was released as a single by John Lennon, Yoko Ono, and the Plastic Ono Band on Apple Records in 1970. It holds a place in pop music history as being one of the fastest-released songs. Recorded at London’s Abbey Road Studios the same day it was written, it arrived in stores ten days later. Lennon told the press, he “wrote it for breakfast, recorded it for lunch, and we’re putting it out for dinner.” The song later made its first album appearance on the compilation ‘Shaved Fish’ in 1975. This is a wonderful gift for the music-loving Lennon fan in your life...even if that person is YOU!
THE CARVING: We cut the 2-dimensional blanks with scroll and jig saws (double-sized custom orders have to be cut with a jigsaw). Carving is done with rotary shaft tools and disc grinders. The 80-grit sanding is the final phase of the carving process, removing the nicks and gouges from the carving tools, and finishing the shaping of the weave. The next 2 sandings with 120 and then 220 grit complete the smoothing and polishing. They are finished with Clear Danish Oil to seal the piece, bringing out the grain and the color.
SIZE: The carving is based on a 10-10.5 inch circle.
